South Bank Parklands "Brisbane Sign"
Originally designed and installed for the G20 Leaders' Summit in 2014, the Brisbane Sign was created to welcome world leaders, including Barack Obama, during Brisbane's hosting of the international event. Intended as a temporary installation for just one month, the sign quickly became a much-loved city landmark.
Today, a permanent version stands proudly within South Bank Parklands as one of Brisbane's most recognisable public icons.
In 2026, the installation was enhanced with a new lighting upgrade, introducing grazing and colour-changing effects that further elevate its presence after dark.
