Challenges
The project presented several technical and environmental challenges that required a carefully considered lighting approach.
Key project considerations included:
- Achieving televised lighting standards for professional sporting events
- Minimising glare and obtrusive shadowing that could interfere with gameplay
- Controlling overspill lighting into surrounding ecological areas and the adjacent Brisbane River
- Meeting Dark Skies compliance requirements
- Working within the constraints of existing sports pole locations
- Completing the upgrade during the club’s off-season
Lighting Solution
To address the project requirements, LAD supplied an advanced sports lighting solution featuring the ewo R-System Gen-3 Sports Luminaire.
The installation incorporated:
- 44 x LAD EWO R System Gen Max 3 E Series STD 2 Panel luminaires
- EP09-R and EP09-L optics
- 4000K LED output
- DALI remote mounted control gear
- 40m interconnecting cable systems
The selected system delivered precise optical control, exceptional lighting performance, and reduced environmental impact while supporting the demands of professional-level sports broadcasting.
